Description:

Students are provided with information and experiences to become gainfully employed in the equine industry. Theory includes anatomy and physiology of the horse, reproduction, parturition. nutrition, genetics, record keeping, conditioning, marketing, conformation/judging, health courses, and principles or equitation (riding). Practical activities includes: weaning techniques, halter breaking, sales preparation, mare and stallion breeding management, foal management, saddle driving techniques, riding posture/position/placement, centered riding, and development of SkillsUSA leadership skills.

Hours and Length:

Morning session - 8:10 - 11:10am.
Afternoon session - 12:45 - 3:45pm.

College Credit:

Up to 12 hours through Redlands CC
Up to 17 hours through Panhandle State
