Theory includes anatomy and physiology of the horse, reproduction, parturition. nutrition, genetics, record keeping, conditioning, marketing, conformation/judging, health courses, and principles or equitation (riding). Practical activities includes: weaning techniques, halter breaking, sales preparation, mare and stallion breeding management, foal management, saddle driving techniques, riding posture/position/placement, centered riding, and development of SkillsUSA leadership skills.
