The Computer Service Technology class is designed to meet the needs of computer repair, network design, and server software knowledge. Teacher credentials have included national certifications of A+, Network+, SCP Cyber Security, and Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator.
Second Year Subjects include: Server 2003, and Cyber Security, and various LAN wiring skills.
First year students study hardware, software, and other miscellaneous topics to be able to pass the nationally recognized test A+, and networking to pass the nationally recognized test Network+. Second year students study server software, Cyber Security, and other miscellaneous subjects to be able to pass the nationally recognized tests Microsoft MCSA, and SCP Cyber Security tests.
Jobs include: computer repair, software troubleshooting, networking (from beginning to administration), cyber security, cabling, and wireless networking. One of the new careers being developed in our area are casinos. Every machine is a computer that requires it to be networked to a server. A casino may have more than a thousand networked machines. The industry will need many repair people to keep the machines serviced, and all machines have their games replaced every three weeks.
