Network+

Second year students focus on Network+ and LAN, LAN wiring, switches, wireless, and subnetting.

Students practice running cable through the ceiling, how to mark cables, how to route cables, how care should be taken to pull cables, how to route cables, and refresh their memory on how to install cable ends.

Network+ teaches the networking foundation regardless of which brand you select. The basics include various media types, physical topology, network protocols, OSI model, domains, and troubleshooting NIC's. Troubleshooting NIC's include the card, cabling, and NIC protocol binding process, testing connectivity locally and through the network.

Network+ is a nationally recognized test that implies a degree of networking knowledge that is needed to be involved with networking.

Some of the networking equipment include:

New NIC card
Old NIC card
Network Interface Cards (NIC's),
hubs and switches, Hubs and switches
Cisco equipment

and Cisco equipment.
Upon installing a NIC you will need to go through the NIC setup in windows.
